Sanford went on MSNBC to bash President Trump over his sh*thole comments.
Sanford was expected to be a shoo-in for releection.
But the bitter #NeverTrumper was forced to start spending money to smear his Republican opponent in the final hours of his primary campaign.
Sanford ran against Pro-Trump Republican state Rep. Katie Arrington in the Republican primary.
President Trump tweeted out in support of Katie Arrington on Tuesday.
Trump tweeted Sanford would be better off in Argentina – a hit on his former long distance affair.
