Police in New York City have arrested a man who they say had snuck into Trump International Hotel armed with a metal pole and went looking for Jared Kushner.

As TMZ.com first reported on Monday, citing law enforcement sources, 30-year-old Matthew Pilling was discovered inside the hotel at 1 Central Park West early Sunday morning and was escorted out of the building by security guards.

Undeterred, Pilling allegedly returned to the hotel a few hours later, this time armed with a metal pole, and allegedly tried to break into the hotel kitchen.

Security quickly apprehended the intruder and called police.

NYPD offices how responded to the scene reportedly discovered a note on Pilling, which stated that he intended to harm President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and aide Jared Kushner.

Pilling was arrested at the scene on a charge of criminal trespassing.

Jared and his wife, Ivanka Trump, currently live in the tony Kalorama Heights section of Washington DC with their three children.

Kushner, 37, who serves as senior adviser to his father-in-law, President Trump, was last seen in public on Friday night in DC.

He and Ivanka were photographed stepping out of their mansion for a date night.

Last week, the pair attended the White House state dinner honoring French President Emmanuel Macron.
