THE German city of Munster fell victim to a suspected terror attack after a truck ploughed through a group of people in the city centre. Here are the latest Munster attack photos as emergency cervices sweep the city.

A German police spokesman confirmed “several dead, probably including the suspect” and at least 30 people are believed to be injured.

A security source added: “The scenario is such that an attack cannot be ruled out.”

The terrifying incident unfolded when a small truck drive into a crowd of people gathered in Munster’s historic old town near the near the Kiepenkerl statue.

The perpetrator is understood to have shot himself shortly after fleeing the scene of the bloodshed.

Police have said a widespread operation is now underway in Munster.

Several parts of the old town are on lockdown as first aid responders, fire fighters and police swarm the historic city centre.

Erich Rettinghaus, chairman of German Police Union in the North-Rhine-Westphalia region, said: “First of all we are mourning for the victims and injured people.

“Our condolences to all the injured people and the family of the dead and injured and we also wish a speedy recovery.
