The Asian nation has spent around £5billion a set of Lockheed Martin F-35As.

At that cost, the models are worth around £125million each.

They are set to be deployed by 2021, after it was unveiled at Martin’s assembly plant yesterday.

Trump, 71, previously caused a stir when he described the models as “invisible”.

The plane is not invisible, but it is thought Trump was referring to how the jets are designed to be less visible to radar.

He boasted it was “almost like an invisible fighter”.

He said at a military briefing: “Amazing job.

“So amazing we are ordering hundreds of millions of dollars of new airplanes for the air force, especially the F-35.
