NIGEL FARAGE has accused the European Union of “total rank hypocrisy” for complaining after President Donald Trump announced import tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminium.

Fears of a full-blown trade war between President Donald Trump and European Union have been raised and the EU’s trade commissioner said there is “no immediate clarity” from the US on how the bloc can gain exemption from the new tariffs.
Brussels have threatened retaliatory tariffs on US goods, including iconic products like bourbon, motorcycles and blue jeans.
Nigel Farage was left fuming by the European Union’s response as he accused the bloc of “total rank hypocrisy”.
Speaking on his LBC show, he said: “The response from the European Union is, of course, one of uproar. ‘How dare Trump behave like this, this is awful, this will damage global trade’.
“Hang on a second. The European Union have already introduced their own tariffs on aluminium and steel.
“So it’s okay when they do it, but it’s not okay when he does it.
“Total rank hypocrisy. And I predict, this relationship between America and the European Union is not going to improve. Look the EU, Brussels is pretty suspicious of America anyway.
“They absolutely loathe Trump and I should be in the debate on Tuesday morning in Strasbourg when they will no doubt be frothing at the mouth over Trump. But for the first time, somebody in the world is actually standing up to them.”
Nigel Farage continued his praise for President Trump and claimed he was simply trying to get the US a “better deal”.
He said: “You can see what Trump is doing here. This is the businessman.
“What he’s looking to do here is get a better deal, and as he sees it a fairer deal for American goods coming into the European Union.”
Speaking on Saturday night, President Trump told a crowd in Pennsylvania: “Now, all these countries are ringing up. A lot of you are originally from EU countries, that sounds nice, but the EU they kill us on trade.
“You hear European union, sounds so innocent. It’s not innocent. They’re very tough. They’re very smart. We lose $100 billion a year.
