It’s time for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to step in and “remind” Mueller of exactly what he was tasked with.

It sure looks like Robert Mueller wants his investigation to continue through the November midterm elections.

Now that he’s exhausted all relevant people and avenues without finding evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia, he’s targeting some very peripheral characters in an effort to prolong it.

Still unable to find evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia during the 2016 Presidential election, Special Counsel Robert Mueller is turning his guns on an insignificant former campaign advisor and a Lebanese-American businessman with ties to the UAE who frequently visited the White House in 2017.

Former Trump Advisor Sam Nunberg, a lawyer, was fired twice by Trump. In 2014, he was accused of writing several racially charged posts on Facebook (which he has denied) and then fired again and sued for $10 million in 2015 for breaching a Trump campaign confidentiality agreement.

Nunberg apparently spoke to Mueller’s investigators last month and has now been subpoenaed to appear in front of a grand jury. Mueller has requested that Nunberg provide records of all electronic communication between him and several other members of Trump’s campaign including Steve Bannon.

Nunberg, appearing on CNN and by phone to other Cable networks on Monday, said he would not comply with the subpoena, saying, “screw that”. By the evening, however, he had reversed course and said, “I’m going to end up cooperating with them.” Many in the media said he appeared to be having a “meltdown” over the course of the day.

His behavior throughout a series of interviews was buffoonish and impulsive and he lacked credibility. He said he believes Mueller “has something on Trump.” But, even though he said he hates Trump, he doesn’t believe Trump colluded with the Russians. Hope Hicks, former White House Communications Director, told Politico that Nunberg is “a highly self-destructive individual who makes routine calls begging for his job back.”
