A 15-year-old student was arrested on Sunday after making a threat on social media that he would ‘shoot up’ a Texas high school.

A number of people ended up reporting the threat on Sunday to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office near Dallas.

The student is accused of threatening on Snapchat to open fire Monday at Crosstimbers Academy in Weatherford, officials said.

After deputies contacted the student and his parents, the student ended up implicating himself and admitted to posting a selfie with the hashtag ‘#schoolshootingchallengemonday.’

The student, who has not been named, told investigators that the threat was posted as a ‘joke,’ the sheriff’s office said.

He was taken to a juvenile detention facility and faces a charge of aterroristic threat.
