New details released shows that state-of-the-art Sukhoi PAK FA T-50s — also known as the Su-57 — are in Syria testing their electronic warfare and radar capabilities.
It comes just days after a US fighter jet was filmed destroying a Russian-made tank as massive airstrikes killed hundreds in Syria.
Insiders told Russian media that the Russian Defence Ministry has moved four Su-57s to Khmeimim Airbase in Syria.
Israeli satellite images and footage seemed to confirm this.
The video showed the stealth fighter jet — which can travel at speeds of 1,600mph — carrying out war trials in Syria.
Earlier this month a Russian jet was shot down and the pilot burned alive after an ambush by Syrian jihadis.
Russian media said that the jets were testing their capabilities in a semi-combat environment.
Initially, the trial will focus on electronic warfare and radar capabilities, before moving on to test the jets’ weapon systems.
