According to subsequent reports, the while the Commerce Department will recommend a 7.7% aluminum import tariff, it will also recommend a 23.5% tariff on all product imports from China, Russia, Venezuela and Vietnam. Finally, Commerce wants an aluminum quota at 86.7% of 2017 exports, a move which will further enrage aluminum exporters such as China.
