Activity has been detected at the Punggye-ri mountain base despite recent tremors and an earthquake.

Vehicles and personnel have been snapped moving mining carts and rocks onto a spoil pile at the West Portal.

These activities suggest the tunnel is being evacuated as North Korea builds on its nuclear potential, 38 North reports.

The North Portal tunnel has been left dormant and mostly abandoned, possibly due to damage from detonations.

It was the site of North Korea’s largest nuclear test to date on September 3, when the regime detonated a hydrogen bomb.

Increased work at the site was first reported in October by South Korean spies.

The regime suffered a disaster after a double collapse at Punggye-ri in the same month killed at least 200 people.

Some 100 workers excavating the new dig were crushed, and another 100 were killed in a second collapse during rescue efforts, reports Japanese TV.

Tubby tyrant Kim Jong-un has also carried on with his reckless missile tests despite international condemnation.

The secretive state fired a ballistic weapon last month into Japanese waters supposedly capable of hitting the US mainland.

President Donald Trump and his allies stepped up military drills in response in a bid to intimidate Kim.
