North Korea may soon figure out how to put a bomb on top of a missile and there could soon be an incident which ‘could set off war’, according to the congressman for Northern California.
He was asked by Fox News what Kim Jong-un’s latest missile test launch would mean for the US as the rogue state gets closer to striking Donald Trump’s United States.
Mr Garamendi said: “The experts are quite correct, it could, and it’s probably not going to take very long for North Korea to figure out how to put a nuclear bomb on top of that missile.
“It’s a very, very serious situation.”
He also said that nuclear weapons for North Korea aren’t the only threat to the US.
He said: “But the non-nuclear situation in North Korea and South Korea is equally critical and serious.
“North Korea has thousands of long-range artillery and missiles that could rain down on South Korea – talk of war going on.
“It’s possible there could be some incident which could set off a war.”
He added: “The tripwire is really taut in that area so we have to be very very careful.”
Rep. Garamendi said that more needs to be done diplomatically to prevent the situation escalating into World War 3.
He said: “What isn’t happening is the diplomatic effort, a lot of talk around the edges but we need to sit down and to try to figure out how to get away from this situation.”
North Korea released video footage of Kim Jong-un’s latest missile launch on Wednesday after the despot dictator tested world leaders’ patience once again.
