The US President took to Twitter to condemn the hermit state which carried out its latest ballistic missile test on Tuesday.
Since the launch Pyongyang has insisted it now has the capability to strike anywhere in America.
The provocation has enraged Mr Trump who has criticised the North Korean leader using his favourite nickname – Little Rocket Man.
The US President said: “The Chinese Envoy, who just returned from North Korea, seems to have had no impact on Little Rocket Man.
“Hard to believe his people, and the military, put up with living in such horrible conditions. Russia and China condemned the launch.”
Mr Trump has previously been critical of China’s involvement in the Korea crisis.
However, his frosty attitude thawed on a visit to Beijing earlier this month.
But tempers flared again after the latest launch with US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warning China should cut off oil to the rogue neighbour.
Ms Haley said in a speech to the UN Mr Trump had called Chinese President Xi Jinping to demand an end to the supply of oil.
She added: “We now turn to President Xi to also take that stand. We believe he has an opportunity to do the right thing for the benefit of all countries.
“China must show leadership and follow through. China can do this on its own, or we can take the oil situation into our own hands.”
Mr Trump has been riled by the latest tests, which came following months of inaction from the hermit state.
