Speaking to Fox News, Trump warned North Korea that the US army is “prepared for anything” if forced to take military action.
In a one-on-one interview, Trump told broadcaster Maria Bartiromo she would be “shocked to see how totally prepared we are” but “only if we need to be”.
In recent months the US President has taken a tough stance on North Korea, whose nuclear and missile tests have forced him to consider military action.
Trump has ramped up the US’ military presence in the region, with aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan leading joint drills with South Korea this week.
Musing over the prospect of war with the communist nation, Trump said it would “not be nice to do that” before adding: “Will that happen, who knows.”
Trump told Fox News: “We are so prepared like you wouldn’t believe.
“You would be shocked to see how totally prepared we are – if we need to be.”
