On Wednesday, October 18, Mt Sinabung in Indonesia erupted, spewing a thick plume of smoke into the sky and sent lava spewing down the side.
White steam rose hundreds of metres out of the Mt Sinabung’s peak giving locals and professionals the opportunity to take pictures of the eruption.
Photos have now emerged of the eruption in the evening following the explosion abd show bright red lava dripping down the side against a starry backdrop.
It has become a regular occurrence for the volcano in Karo, Indonesia, which began erupting in 2010 after lying dormant for four centuries.
Since then Sinabung has regularly spit hot ash into the air, and has often spewed lava.
Last year seven people were killed in a particularly violent eruption.
A Seven kilometre exclusion zone has been set up around Mt Sinabung.
Some 3,000 kilometres away on the Indonesian island of Bali, another volcano, Mt Agung, is also showing signs of erupting.
