Ten Suspects Allegedly ‘Plotting to Kill’ Politicians Arrested in France

The AFP news agency reported about an alleged “plot to kill politicians” in France. The suspects are believed to be connected with far-right groups.

Ten people suspected of allegedly preparing the murder of politicians in France have been arrested, the French AFP news agency reported, citing a probe source.

The suspects are allegedly linked to far-right groups in France. Nine were reportedly arrested in the morning and the tenth was apprehended in the early afternoon as part of an investigation conducted by the Anti-Terrorist Branch of the Judicial Police and the Directorate General Intelligence. The suspects were placed in custody, the judicial source said.

According to the television channel M6, 10 men aged from 17 to 25 were arrested in Seine-Saint-Denis and in the vicinity of Marseille. According to the channel, they are suspected of having taken part in a plot to attack Muslim politicians and places of worship.

The alleged group’s mastermind, Logan Alexandre Nisin, 21, arrested on June 28 in Tarascon has been placed under an investigation for association with criminals connected to a terror cell.
