Vladimir Putin’s lawmakers blasted Pyongyang in a statement read by the speaker of Russia’s parliament Valentina Matviyenko.

She demanded the rogue state comply with new UN Security Council resolutions laid out after US President Donald Trump threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea.

Russia has consistently called for the calm in the region and warned both sides to stand down over the conflict that could escalate into World War 3.

The superpower shares a small land border with North Korea on its eastern frontier and Pacific Coast.

Kim has fired scores of missiles this year and detonated an H-bomb as fears of war reach fever pitch in the Korean Peninsula.

US forces have been moving into the region for arranged drills with their allies South Korea – much to the fury of Kim.

Super-carrier USS Ronald Reagan arrived today along with two submarines and two destroyers to rehearse war with North Korea.

“We strongly denounce North Korea’s actions for developing its nuclear armament program and the tests they conduct and urge the entire international community to strictly comply with the UN Security Council resolutions,” Matviyenko said.

The UN Security Council has passed two new bills tightening sanctions on Pyongyang in a bid to curb their missile programme.

Putin has previously warned there is a now a real risk of nuclear war with North Korea, urging the US to stand down over their threats to Kim.
