North Korea has put the world on the verge of conflict with its deadly nuclear missile programme.

The tubby tyrant has launched numerous missiles this year, including a terrifying hydrogen bomb.

US President Donald Trump has vowed to “destroy” the North Korean leadership if they do not stop building nukes, and hinted at military action where he described the situation as the “calm before the storm”.

But this has not put off the North, who have met Trump’s threat with an equally menacing demand.

Speaking on propaganda news channel the KCNA, a North Korean committee demanded that US troops were removed from neighbouring South Korea.

The so-called “National Peace Committee of Korea” blasted the US as for what they see as controlling the South Korean army and for joint military operations, where they have simulated attacking the North.

The agreement for US forces to be stationed in South Korea, the Status of Forces Agreement, was signed in 1953 after the Korean War.

And the committee claims “the defence treaty has reduced South Korea into an advanced base for nuclear war”, it said.

It added: “The South Korean people cannot evade the tragedy of a nuclear war as long as the US military occupation of South Korea continues.”
