The movement of armaments comes as President Donald Trump reissued his warning to Kim Jong-un’s regime, saying the US will use “devastating” military action if needed.
It has now been confirmed that Pyongyang moved a number of fighter jets, external fuel tanks and missiles to a base on its eastern coast.
Speaking alongside Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, Trump said he is “totally prepared” to attack the DPRK.
He said: “If we take that option it will be devastating – devastating – for North Korea. It’s called the military option.
“He’s acting very badly. He’s saying things that should never ever be said.”
Trump has maintained his response is totally legitimate as he is responding to threats from North Korea.
On Monday, Foreign minister Ri Yong Ho warned his country was preparing for battle following Trump’s “declaration of war”.
He said: “Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to take countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country.
“In light of the declaration of war by Trump, all options will be on the operations table of the supreme leadership of the DPRK.”
Just hours ago, US Defence officials reportedly confirmed this is true and North Korea has moved a military contingent east.
