A tweet sent out by the US Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) read: “S. Dakota #Airmen arrive on Guam; conduct #bilateral missions w/Japan & ROK–U.S. ready to #fighttonight”

North Korea said earlier today they were “considering plans” for a nuke strike on Guam.

But the US hit back with a swift response, despatching it’s deadliest aircraft to Kim’s doorstep.

The tweet sent out by PACAF showed pictured of two deadly B-1 bombers flanked by two F-15 fighter jets being mobilised and on their way to the island.

A PACAF spokesman said in a statement: “Two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancers assigned to the 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, flew from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, for a 10-hour mission, flying in the vicinity of Kyushu, Japan, the East China Sea, and the Korean peninsula.”

“During the mission, the B-1s were joined by Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15s as well as Republic of Korea Air Force F-15s, performing two sequential bilateral missions.

“These flights with Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) demonstrate solidarity between Japan, ROK and the US to defend against provocative and destabilizing actions in the Pacific theater.”
