Police say the driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, has been arrested.

It is believed the vehicle drove into pedestrians at the corner of Annegatan and Lönnrotsgatan in the centre of Helsinki.

At least four people have been taken to hospital.

Traffic in the area is being diverted at the intersection between Annegatan and Kalevagatan, with no access to pedestrians at this time.
