Poland to LEAVE? Brussels forces Poles to edge with threat to PUNISH nation for defying EU
THE European Union is threatening to punish Poland and suspend its voting rights in a row over major reforms which clash with Brussels rules.

An opposition Polish politician said the EU could see what was happening in the country and accepted the threat that Poland could be forced out of the bloc.
Warsaw has been given a week by the European Union to halt judicial reforms after it said it would put courts under direct government control, or face punishment for undermining democracy.
Last week, the Polish parliament adopted a new law which would allow them to choose the successors of 15 judges of the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS).
Speaking on Newsnight, Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz said the EU could see what the Ruling party are trying to do to the Polish constitution.
She said: “[The Ruling party] don’t retain the right to change Polish constitution but they try to do this by the ordinary acts. Like the act on the dismissal of all judges on the supreme court.
“I heard today from Mr Timmermans a very strong statement that the European Union, see what is happening in Poland at the moment.
“That Law and Justice broke Polish constitution, that Law and Justice broke on all those laws on which the European Union was built.
“European Union see that the Polish government, the Law and Justice government threatens the Polish journalists.”
The European Commission could trigger the Article 7 procedure against Poland which would impose sanctions on the country for violating fundamental rights of its citizens.
