President Trump is putting pressure on Capitol Hill to get a health care bill passed before leaving town in August.

‘I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!’ Trump wrote on Twitter Monday morning.

Trump’s call comes after a number of conservative lawmakers have pushed to get the upcoming August recess cancelled, as Republicans – who control both the House and Senate – have yet to get a signature piece of legislation passed since the new Congress started in January.

That hasn’t been good news for the White House, with President Trump only able to point at new Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch as proof that he can work with Capitol Hill.

Right now, a new health care bill is being held up in the Senate and lawmakers will have just three weeks to usher the controversial legislation through – and differences will still need to be ironed out in the House.
