Angela Merkel’s dreadful attempt at networking with Donald Trump blows up as he scolds EU
DONALD Trump hit out at the European Union (EU) in a private chat with Angela Merkel and Donald Tusk, which was heard when the German Chancellor forgot to turn off her microphone.

An informal chat between the European leaders and the US President on the sidelines of the G20 this morning revealed Angela Merkel initially tried to charm the US President, complimenting him on his rallying speech in Poland, made days before the global summit got underway in Hamburg.
In the off-the-cuff chat, before the G20 session on migration began, European Council president Donald Tusk also praised Mr Trump for his “best speech yet”.
Angela Merkel is then invited to join the conversation and adds: “Yes, it was fantastic. We didn’t understand why you waited to give that in Warsaw.
“It would have been nice to do that speech in Brussels, no?”
Mr Trump can be seen laughing off this comment, before Mr Tusk, who is from Poland, joked: “A special gift to me I think!”
The US President then appeared to take indirect aim at the reception he recieved in Brussels.
He said: “Well, it helps when a crowd is so loving. Tremendous crowds there. So authentic.”
