NIGEL Farage has claimed unsustainable migration is turning European leaders “against each other”.

The former Ukip leader blasted the European Union’s open-door migrant policy and hit out at “Merkel madness”.

Nigel Farage was speaking the day after Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates admitted EU leaders needed to make it “more difficult” for migrants to reach Europe.

This was a huge U-turn on the 61-year-old’s previous stance, with the computer chief last year saying Germany and Sweden should be “congratulated” for their tactics.

Mr Farage said he “could not believe” the extent of Mr Gates’ change of heart, stating it was yet another nail in the coffin for the EU.

He said on LCB: “Bill Gates – yes, Bill gates – has blasted Germany’s open-door migrant policy.

“He is saying that Merkel’s policy is building up huge unsustainable problems and that something needs to be done to stop the boats from coming.”

Mr Farage said Mr Gates actually held back in his criticism of the bloc and its migrant policy.
