An Oregon chiropractor has been arrested at the Canadian border after a warrant for sex crimes against a minor had been issued against him.
Dr Shane Espinoza was apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents Thursday night at the Peace Arch Land Port of Entry in Blaine.
The Hillsboro Police Department (HPD) issued a warrant for his arrest Thursday afternoon.
The 45-year-old well-known North Plains chiropractor is facing charges of unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree of a minor, sexual abuse in the first degree, sodomy in the third degree, and rape in the third degree.
Espinoza was turned over to U.S. Marshals and is being extradited back to Washington County to face the charges.
‘CBP officers remain diligent in their efforts to intercept wanted individuals before they can do further harm to someone,’ said acting Area Port Director Terry Schulze in a statement.
