War fears are risen between Washington and Pyongyang after the death of Otto Warmbier who was imprisoned by Kim’s ruthless regime.

US bombers joined a fly-by with Japanese and South Korean fighter planes as they showed off the allies’ joint might to North Korea.

Kim is feared to be on the verge of a nuclear bomb test – marking the state’s sixth detonation in its quest of ICBMs.

Two supersonic US B-1B bombers flew over the Korean Peninsula alongside F-15 fighters from South Korea and Japan.

US military officials said the drill was to provide “assurance and deterrence” in the region.

North Korea often slates these drills as attempting to provoke nuclear war – despite the fact B-1Bs Lancers do not carry nuclear weapons.

“We can launch and operate long-range bombers over the Korean peninsula on very short notice, and we hope not to have to do that,” US Navy Capt. Jeff Davis said.

The 10-hour mission was carried out by jets assigned to the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.

Bombers jetted over from Andersen Air Force Base in Guam before flying over the East China Sea, the Korean Peninsula and off the Sea of Japan.
