EU trolls Trump: Brussels plans big bash for US states rebelling against climate policy
BRUSSELS today risked once more angering Donald Trump with the announcement that it will openly court US States who want to rebel against the president’s controversial climate change policies.

Eurocrats said they will work with independent governors and politicians in America who “understand” the issue of global warming as they launched another stinging attack on the Republican.
The billionaire tycoon has vowed to pull America out of the Paris climate change agreement, signed by his predecessor Barack Obama in 2015, saying it unfairly discriminates against American businesses.
But at least nine states, led by the two giants of California and New York, have already set up plans to undermine him by using local legislation to circumvent the move.
Mr Trump, who said he was elected to be “represent the people of Pittsburg, not Paris” has repeatedly positioned himself as a climate change sceptic and vowed on the campaign trail to scrap the agreement.
His stance is wildly against the mainstream consensus in modern science, with 97 per cent of experts agreeing that the world is being warmed directly by human activity.
EU Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said he would work with Americans who “care about the future of the planet” to make sure the President’s decision
He told the EU parliament in Strasbourg: “I see a strength and resolve from all those who care about the future of the planet and to see the opportunities of the modern economy.
“This includes partners within the United States such as states of California, Washington and New York which taken together would be the world’s fourth economy.
“As the European Union we will step up our climate diplomacy and collaboration with other partners.”
