Joe Biden’s niece has dodged jail – again – after she stole $110,810 in a credit card scam.
Caroline Biden, 30, was offered a plea bargain at the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York and pleaded guilty to using a borrowed credit card to go on a lush shopping binge, according to the New York Post.
Had she been tried normally Biden would have spent up to a year in jail but she has rather been sentenced to two years probation, if she is able to pay back the money and behaves herself.
The young blonde’s defense attorneys, one of whom is Ira London – one of New York’s top-rated lawyers – has refused to comment on the reduced sentence, the Post reported.
Joe’s unruly niece asked to borrow a credit card from a victim, who was not identified in court documents, to buy an item for $672.
But Biden strayed from her word. She opened an account at the Bigelow Pharmacy in New York and spent more than $100,000 between April 2015 and June 24 2016 buying the store’s products.
