A wrestling coach at a Los Angeles high school has been charged with sexually assaulting four students over the last four years, authorities said on Thursday.
Terry Terrell Gillard, 56, is accused of committing the abusive acts on children aged 14 or 15 who he met through the wrestling team at John H Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, California.
He is facing 23 counts of lewd acts upon a child ages 14 or 15, two counts of attempted lewd acts on a child and one count of sexual battery by restraint for the alleged incidents, which are believed to have occurred between 2014 and 2017.
He also faces four misdemeanor charges of child annoyance.
John H Francis Polytechnic High School has both boys and girls wrestling teams. Gillard’s charges do not specify if the minor victims in the case are male or female.
Gillard, of Sylmar, California, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday and remains the subject of an ongoing investigation by the LAPD’s juvenile division.
