Lucy Harris, who set up Leavers of London, said the EU referendum was about citizens exercising their democratic rights before blasting those railing against the Brexit result.
She said freedom from Brussels bureaucracy was the most important factor for quitting the bloc.
The campaigner told Express.co.uk: “The question is if we were to never have voted this way we would have been rich slaves, but now we’re going to be slightly poor but free.
“And I think that living that freedom is so much more important than anything else.
“It depends on what you consider to be most the important thing. Is money more important than your freedom? Is money more important than your democracy? For me, absolutely not.”
Speaking about those who sought refuge within her support group, she said the impact on Leavers’ lives and relationships was “absolutely crazy”.
She said: “I get emails through, I get messages through saying stuff like ‘I’m getting a divorce, I’ve been kicked out my book club, I haven’t got any more work in the music industry because of this, I’ve been rejected for freelance work in journalism’.
“And it’s just got to the point where I just think it’s crazy, absolutely crazy. To practice your democratic right and then have this backlash is discrimination.
