Furious Iraqis are taking the law into their own hands by killing people they claim are members of the depraved terror group.
Eleven suspected jihadis were recently executed by a roadside in Hammam al-Alil, a town 20 miles south of Mosul.
It was liberated from the clutches of ISIS, also known as Daesh, six months ago.
One member of the group said it was carrying out the vigilante attacks as revenge after his cousin had been killed by ISIS militants.
The man, who identified himself as Omar, told the Telegraph: “It’s a reciprocity. They hurt my family, now we will hurt theirs.”
The vigilantes have also turned to social media, posting the addresses of dead and imprisoned ISIS fighters on Facebook.
A group called Hammam al-Alil Revolution last month urged its 650 members to “burn them in their houses”.
The post added: “We are now locating Daesh families. We will make them regret joining. Good luck everyone.”
Ali Hamed Ahmed, 65, said he was targeted because three of his sons fought for ISIS.
