On May 18 the recall started when Hawaii-based Hilo Fish Company recalled their tuna sourced from Sustainable Seafood Company and Santa Cruz Seafood
Hilo Fish Company’s recalled products include 8-ounce steaks with label code 627152, and tuna cubes in 15-pound cases with label code 705342

Some imported frozen tuna cubes and steaks are being recalled after testing showed they could be contaminated with the hepatitis A virus.

A recent outbreak of hepatitis A virus found in contaminated frozen tuna has led to an investigation by both the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Center for Disease and Control (CDC).

The FDA notified customers on Friday that tuna sold in Texas, California and Oklahoma were at risk of infection.

Beginning May 18, the recall started when Hawaii-based Hilo Fish Company recalled their tuna sourced from Sustainable Seafood Company and Santa Cruz Seafood, Inc; both tested positive for that tested positive for the hepatitis A virus.
