Christians and churches warned to be on alert for IS attack

IS fanatics who claimed responsibility for the Manchester bomb have boasted: “What comes next will be more severe on the worshippers of the cross and their allies.”
A Christian charity has revealed that the wording of the threat is similar to one used by IS in a video showing the beheadings of 30 Ethiopian Christians in Libya in 2015.
Barnabas Fund, a charity which protects persecuted Christians, has urged church leaders to protect congregations.
The charity has told clergy: “It is almost certain that sooner or later a church in the UK will suffer some form of terrorist attack.”
The statement added: “In view of both this and the heightened security warning, we are urging all churches to exercise extra vigilance in the coming days and immediately report anything suspicious to the police.
