A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Manchester bombing.

The suspect was arrested in the city’s Old Trafford area after armed police carried out in nearby Moss Side, where residents reported explosions being heard.

One resident said on Twitter there was an explosion near Quantock Close and Selworth Road shortly before 2pm.

Dogs have been seen at the scene and police have closed off roads in the area, with some vans being seen taking evidence away.

Twelve people are now in police custody, nearly a week on from the attack at Manchester Arena, which killed 22 people and injured dozens more.
