Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon is coming back in from the cold with his combative skills more in-demand as the White House battles investigators and the media.
Bannon took a lower profile in recent weeks after reports on his clashes with Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.
President Trump grew increasingly frustrated, as the conflict reportedly sparked a staff civil war in the West Wing, and at one point ask them to ‘work it out,’ CNN reported.
Now, White House sources are touting Bannon as a ‘wartime consigliere’ who can help Trump battle the media and circling investigators, Axios reported Friday.
Trump is considering a senior staff shakeup, the Wall Street Journal reported, with consideration also given to finding a way to filter the president’s use of social media.
