Nick Ferrari has hit out at the ‘myth of the lone wolf’ that has seemingly excused terror attacks in Britain as just one-off acts.
The LBC host was furious as he spoke about the political response to the Manchester terror attack, that left 22 dead.
He said the country needs to wake up to the fact that the Manchester bomber was not a lone wolf.
Ferrari hit out at the Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham who said yesterday that there was no problem with extremism in the city.
The radio host demanded that political figures wake up to the fact that terrorism was not just a one-off, isolated incident but a network of extremists.
He echoed the head of Greater Machester Police Ian Hopkins who revealed that Manchester bomber Salman Abedi was part of a terror network.
During an on-air rant against the idea of a lone wolf attack, Ferrari said: “When you hear the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police say there is a network, perhaps he’d like to have a word with the Mayor of Manchester, who told us that this was the work of one lone misguided terrorist. No it’s not.
“So many like to say there is a lone wolf. Mayor Burnham said this man was as representative of the Muslim community in Manchester as the killer of Jo Cox was of white right-wing extremists.
“But, the killer of Jo Cox had no network supporting him – it was a vile, random murderous act committed by someone with mental health issues, acting alone, utterly alone.
“But this man in Manchester had support, he had a network. The police used that word, not me. The police use the word network.”
