Salman Ramadan Abedi rang his mother asking for forgiveness before blowing himself up at Manchester Arena where 21,000 fans were leaving an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night.
The British-born 22-year-old is believed to have been a “mule” carrying out the attack for a larger network of collaborators.
Police have arrested eight people in the UK, while Abedi’s brother, Hashim, and father, Ramadan, have been arrested in Libya, where the family is originally from.
Libyan investigators have said his younger brother told them Abedi learned how to make explosives online and wanted to “seek victory for ISIS”.
Hashim said Abedi acted alone.
This is a breaking story.
