Abedi killed 22 people – including children and teenagers – and left 59 injured when he carried his cowardly suicide attack at the end of an Ariana Grande pop concert in Manchester on Monday night.

It has emerged that the 22-year-old jihadi was already known to the security services.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack and a huge investigation is now under way to discover if he committed the atrocity on behalf of a wider terror network.

A Muslim community worker told the BBC about that worried members of the public reported Abedi to a police anti-terrorism hotline because of his extreme and violent views.

It has also been reported that Abedi was in Manchester earlier this year and spoke of the value of dying for a cause and made hardline statements about suicide operations and the conflict in Libya.

The community worker said two people who knew Abedi at college made separate calls to the police.

They had been worried that “he was supporting terrorism” and had expressed the view that “being a suicide bomber was OK.”
