A bizarre editorial in a state-run North Korea newspaper warned the hermit state will “reduce” its rivals from Tokyo to Washington “to ashes”.
The Pyongyang-based propaganda rag was published today under the headline: “Those who hurt the dignity of supreme leadership of DPRK will not survive.”
It began with an accusation America and South Korea had carried out a terror attack on Kim Jong-un’s rogue state – something it considered a declaration of war.
The piece said: “The army and people of the DPRK, enraged at serious state-sponsored terrorism plotted by the US and the South Korean puppet forces, are turning out in the just war on terrorism to reduce to ashes the plot-hatching centre of the enemy.
“The recent hideous terrorist plot by use of biochemical substance is the most vicious challenge and a declaration of war against the leader whom the Korean people regard as their spiritual mainstay and eternal sun.”
The article said the move was enough to provoke a “total war”, promising those responsible would “no longer survive”.
