He suggested using website Have I Been Pwned to see if hackers already know the information they might need to hack into you bank account.

“The website tells you if any of your details have been taken,” Martin explained on ITV’s This Morning today.

“If you are using the same password for this account, as your are for your bank account then you are vulnerable.”

Many people tend to use the same password for all their accounts, but this makes them very vulnerable to cyber attacks.

Once your password is known for one account, hackers will quickly try it on all your others.

“From social media logins to bank accounts, make sure everything is kept separate,” Martin warned.

“You need to behave in such way that you are sure to protect yourself.”

Martin explained that there can be some fights over reimbursing people who have had money stolen online if they haven’t taken proper steps to protect themselves.
