Carole Malone has said that Jean-Claude Juncker completely changed the debate around Brexit negotiations this week.
In an incredible and impassioned rant on Sky News’ The Pledge, Malone said the EU “has tried to discredit this country in the most appalling way”.
The EU row began after Jean-Claude Juncker allegedly leaked details about his meeting with Theresa Day at Downing Street last week.
Theresa May accused Brussels of meddling in the British election, which then prompted Donald Tusk to tell her to calm down and control her emotions.
The war of words escalated this morning, with Sir Michael Fallon calling for EU officials to keep their views to themselves.
Earlier today Jean-Claude Juncker also mocked the demise of the English language in Europe.
Carole Malone said the behaviour of the EU had ripped up the rulebook of the Brexit debate.
She said: “This week has been a game-changer. They have tried to discredit and trash us.
“They’re tried to make our PM look like she’s losing the plot, like she doesn’t know what she’s doing.
“This has changed the game in the sense it’s no longer Leavers and Remainers.
“It’s people who are on the side of this country and people who side with the EU!”
