Pyongyang’s despot said US “gangsters” were leading the region to the edge of a bloody conflict.
Kim Jong-un, speaking through a Pyongyang-based newspaper which acts as a state mouthpiece, said Donald Trump was racketing up tension in the region.
He said North Korea was “fully ready” for armed conflict and would not hesitate to use nuclear warfare, which he described as a “treasured sword”.
Kim said the US was risking its very survival by provoking North Korea with military exercises.
The Pyongyang propaganda newspaper’s article said: “The gangster-like US imperialists have gone extremely reckless in their moves to unleash a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula.
“On May 1, the US imperialists committed one more military provocation of conducting a nuclear bomb dropping drill against the major objects of the DPRK in the sky over South Korea.”
The article said America was considering carrying out a pre-emptive strike against the rogue state, which has repeatedly threatened to destroy its Western enemies in recent months.
