The missile exploded moments after launching on Saturday and broke up in the Korean peninsula.
According to Seoul Economy Daily, the missile was heading towards Russia before it broke up.
The paper said: “If the ballistic missile that flew to the northeastern region had not failed, it would have been a harbour point or a Russian territory.
“It is for this reason that North Korea intentionally destroyed the missile.”
If these claims are proven to be true, North Korea’s relationship with Russia could be destroyed.
America’s National Security Adviser has said that America should be “prepared” to take military action against North Korea.
