The CEO of United Airlines will testify at Capitol Hill on Tuesday to answer committee questions about passenger relationships with the company.
Oscar Munoz’s appearance comes nearly a month after the highly publicized incident in which a Vietnamese doctor was physically assaulted and dragged off an overbooked United plane.
Munoz will testify alongside leaders of other domestic airlines, which have also come under fire in recent weeks for controversial treatment of passengers.
United recently settled with Dr David Dao for an undisclosed amount of money after he lost several teeth during the bloody altercation and suffered injuries requiring surgery.
The legal resolution was ‘amicable’ according to United, ABC News reported.
Dao’s attorney, Thomas A. Demetrio, said that Munoz ‘did the right thing’ and should be applauded ‘for this acceptance of corporate accountability’.
