After North Korea launched another failed ballistic missile test early on Saturday morning, the world is waiting to see how President Donald Trump will react.
Shortly after the hermit kingdom’s failed launch was announced, the President tweeted: “North Korea disrespected the wishes of China & its highly respected President when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!”
Meanwhile, a US official told Reuters that new naval drills and more war ships could be sent to the region in a further show of force.
The official went on to suggest that the failed missile launch may prompt the Trump administration to speed up plans for new sanctions against Pyongyang.
The source said: “It’s possible that something could be sped up.
“Something that’s ready to go could be taken from the larger package and expedited.”
The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the missile launch was the kind of “provocation” that had been expected ahead of South Korea’s election next month.
