THE White House is already assessing different military options to deal with North Korea, according to a top US official.

Speaking about the question of another nuclear missile tests, the official said it’s not a question of “if, it’s when”.

The chilling warning comes moments after North Korea’s vice foreign minister warned the hermit country will conduct another nuclear test “whenever the supreme headquarters sees fit”.

Han Song Ryol said the situation on the Korean peninsula is now in a “vicious cycle” and also accused President Trump of “making trouble” with “aggressive” tweets.

Earlier this week, the US leader tweeted that North Korea was “looking for trouble”, and vowed to take on the hermit state alone if necessary as tensions near breaking point.

Donald Trump has deployed two destroyer vessels close to the Korean peninsula, with each capable of shooting Tomahawk cruise missiles – the same weaponry used to strike an airbase in Syria last week.

Heavy bombers are also positioned in Guam, a small island in the Western Pacific, while the USS Carl Vinson strike group has already been diverted to the area as the world braces for another North Korean nuclear launch.
