The dictator said the hermit state was ready for war recently after it was threatened by US president Donald Trump.

The escalation of Pyongyang’s nuclear programme in the country and the testing of missiles has caused global outrage.

It is believed North Korea has been attempting to master a missile which will hit US mainland.

The country has staged five atomic tests, two of them last year.

Now it is feared another operation will be launched to mark the 105th birthday anniversary of founder Kim Il-Sung on Saturday.

The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Kim watched over special forces as they dropped from light transport planes “like hail” and “mercilessly blew up enemy targets”.

Apparently amazed by his country’s fighting prowess, Kim said “the bullets seemed to have their own eyes”, KCNA reported.

It did not identify when the operation was held.

Photos of the event have emerged from the hermit state.
