Republican candidate for the French presidency, Francois Fillon, has been left covered in flour after being attacked by a “lobbyist” at an event in Strasbourg.

Francois Fillon has been left covered in the white powder flour after an event in Strasbourg.
Mr Fillon was arriving for a rally when he was covered in flour.
The attack was caught on the French television channel BFMTV.
People have taken to social media with the hashtag #FillonStrasbourg to discuss the attack.
According to French media, a young man shouted “lobbyist” before throwing the flour.
The man who did it was wearing a t-shirt “students with Fillon” to pretend to be a supporting activist.
Fillon was cleaned up before he took to the stage.
The attacker was taken away by security.
