NORTH Korea has launched a snap tank drill as Kim Jong-un declared the rogue state is ready to “liberate” the South.

Pyongyang’s war chiefs launched a live fire drill of their tank forces as tensions rage with the US.
Kim personally attended the battle exercise to boast his tanks are ready to “destroy the enemy once a war breaks out”.
North Korea lined up their armour as generals promised to “liberate” the US ally South Korea.
Beaming Kim Jong-un – dubbed a “crazy fat kid” by US senator John McCain – laughed as his tanks blasted targets during the Korean People’s Army Tank Crews Competition.
He called the rumbled war machines his “iron fist” as they nervously eye joint military drills happening south of the border between Washington and Seoul.
North Korea is readying for a sixth nuclear bomb test amid fears of open war with the US.
