Bill O’Reilly and Fox News have paid out $13million to five women who accused the TV show host of sexual harassment and verbal abuse.

The five women, all of whom worked with O’Reilly or appeared on his show, agreed not to speak out against him or pursue legal action in exchange for the settlements.

But a New York Times report revealed the women complained about phone calls in which it sounded as if Mr. O’Reilly was masturbating.
Other accusations included unwanted advances, lewd comments or verbal abuse.

Two other women who did not receive settlements also said they were sexually harassed by the 67-year-old.

Parent company 21st Century Fox issued a statement standing behind O’Reilly after the first settlement was issued in 2002.

It read: ‘Notwithstanding the fact that no current or former Fox News employee ever took advantage of the 21st Century Fox hotline to raise a concern about Bill O’Reilly, even anonymously, we have looked into these matters over the last few months and discussed them with Mr. O’Reilly.

‘While he denies the merits of these claims, Mr. O’Reilly has resolved those he regarded as his personal responsibility.

‘Mr. O’Reilly is fully committed to supporting our efforts to improve the environment for all our employees at Fox News.
